Eugenia Guzmán Biography

From Mar del Plata, Argentina, Eugenia Guzmán is a pianist specializing in the performance of classical music and Argentinian popular and folk music. Since completing studies in performance at the Luis Gianneo Conservatory, she has worked with the Mar del Plata Symphonic Orchestra and as a touring solo pianist playing concert halls across Argentina. In recent years she undertook studies in Argentinian Popular Music at the San Martín National University, directed by the famous popular Argentinian guitarist and composer Juan Falú. Since then she has performed tango and folk Argentinian music intensively as a member of the quintet Tensión Tango. Their first CD Maldita Caballa, has the mark of breaking the traditional tango structure. In June 2017 she won a scholarship from The Argentinian National Cultural Ministry that brings her to Europe in January 2018, where she will be performing, studying and teaching in London and Ireland.
