DkIT's GAA team defeats GMIT to progress onto the semi-finals of the Trench Cup in Mallow

Wednesday 30th January saw DkIT’s Men’s Senior Team defeat Galway Mayo Institute of Technology to go onto the semi-finals of the Trench Cup taking place in Mallow next month. 



The match ended with a final score of DKIT 5–14 to GMIT 1–9, the team were proud of their result commenting post match Conor Doherty of Kilcar GAA, who secured a goal against GMIT said:

“It’s another great achievement for the college. We have come on a lot since the League Final and have become a more ruthless outfit, we have all put so much into this as a team it is a well-deserved victory. We are delighted to progress onto the next stage in Mallow.”

Teammate Cormac Daly, who also plays for Castlerahan GAA noted:

“It’s brilliant that the team get another Trench weekend after winning it numerous times in previous years, it’s also another great opportunity for a lot of the younger players to experience it and showcase their skills on the Trench Cup Stage in Mallow”
