DkIT Film Shorts screening at ‘Disappear Here Film Festival’

14 September 2018

Fresh from success at the Dublin Film Festival 2018, DkIT students completing the BA Hons in Film and Television Production, have been selected to screen three film shorts at the upcoming ‘Disappear Here Film Festival’ (DHFF).

Returning for its second year to Ballyliffin, Donegal, the DHFF is a three day festival taking place in unique locations around the Wild Atlantic Way, from Friday 28th September 2018.

From short animated films for children, to scary midnight movies just in time for Halloween, the festival promises to showcase an unforgettable mix of short films, features and documentaries, music videos and animations

The three DkIT film shorts to be screened at the festival are ‘Turf’, ‘The Gates’ and ‘The Stars Above and the Frogs in the Grass’. Commenting on the news, director of ‘The Gates’, Peter Toplis said:

I learned a lot about the process of directing a film and enjoyed bringing the characters from the script to life. I can't credit the crew involved enough for the amazing work they did. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them to create the best short possible. We are thrilled to be part of the Disappear Here Film Festival. It's especially nice since JC Bonar who played The Maker, and Production Manager/Boom Operator Laura McGinley are two Donegal natives."

DkIT is delighted with the continued success of its film students, testament to their commitment and vision showcased throughout the 4 year BA Hons in Film and Television Production degree.
