DkIT student entrepreneur hosts ‘Super-Wheel’ Pre-launch event

16 July 2018

DkIT student entrepreneur Kam Sam Sing (Simon), recently hosted a pre-launch and public trial run event of his ‘Super Wheel’ system, his second product innovation at DkIT.

Originally from Hong Kong, Simon first came into contact with DkIT’s Regional Development Centre (RDC) in 2016, when he underwent a programme that successfully assisted him to licence one of his inventions, the EasyPedal, a product aimed at improving the cycling experience. Now Simon has taken another step forward with his second cycling invention, the Super Wheel system, which he plans to commercialise himself.

His journey to success started here at DkIT, when Simon participated on Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers Programme, in collaboration with DCU. He also used a number of Innovation Vouchers to model and test his invention, as part of its development.

Speaking at the pre-launch event, Simon commented that he was:

“Absolutely delighted to have reached this stage. Everyone is very supportive here at DkIT and I really feel that I can work here. I will continue to work here for the next few years as I complete the project.”

Attending the event, DkIT president Michael Mulvey, extended his congratulations to Simon:

“On behalf of DkIT I would like to wish Simon the very best of luck with the Super Wheel and would reiterate that we will continue to support his endeavours as his business develops and scales over the coming years.”
