Polish Academics Give Lecture to DkIT Computing Students

02 February 2017

Two academics, Dr. Artur Hłobaż and Dr. Krzysztof Podlaski from the University of Lodz, Poland, gave a keynote lecture to students and staff from DkIT’s Department of Visual & Human-Centred Computing and Department of Computing & Mathematics on the 26th January. The talk was on the topic of "Security Issues in Modern Apps". In their talk, Dr. Hłobaż and Dr. Podlaski gave an excellent insight into the issues that app developers must overcome in order to make their software secure.

Over the past four years, academics from DkIT and the University of Lodz have worked closely together. Staff members from each college have delivered lecturers in each other’s colleges. DkIT is currently working with the University of Lodz and other European partners on a trans-national project that gets students to work in multinational, multidisciplinary teams with the aim of creating serious mobile games. Over the past four years over 50 students from the BSc (Honours) in Computing in Games Development have travelled to continental Europe to take part in this project. Together with the University of Lodz and other European partners, DkIT is continuing to work to secure European research funding.
