Vinny Murphy on Acting for Camera in the Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music Visiting Guest Series

The Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music Visiting Guest Series continues on Thursday 16 February at 3pm in P1081 with a workshop by Vinny Murphy on Acting for Camera.

Creative Media at DkIT has a series of modules on acting, directing and filmmaking practice. In a masterclass that will be of particular interest to theatre and film students, Vinny will share his insights on acting for camera through a practical masterclass.

 



Vinny Murphy

Vinny Murphy is a writer, director, actor and composer for film, television and theatre.

He has acted in over 50 films and television programmes, directed nearly as many, and made films in almost all the situations it's possible to make a film in. He is the writer-director of the international award-winning Irish film Accelerator.

Vinny teaches screen acting and filmmaking at the Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art and the Conservatory of Music and Drama at D.I.T.. He teaches screenwriting at the National Film School at IADT and through his company the Screen Project.

This workshop will enable students to learn from Vinny’s expertise in acting, directing and writing, as he works with a selected group of students, filming them live, and workshopping ideas with those present.
